Below is a very interesting short video about the importance of geography in the birth of Eurasia. Eurasia includes Russia and the Eurasian republics. The Eurasian republics are located in two different regions called Transcaucasia and Central Asia. Transcaucasia is a region between the Black and Caspian seas. It includes the Eurasian republics of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. To the north, this region is bordered by the Caucasus Mountains, to the west by the Black Sea, and to the east by the Caspian Sea. Check out this link for a video about the Caucasus Mountains: transcaucasiantrail.org/en/home/ Also interesting about the region is the diversity of languages spoken there.
Central Asia is a region that contains Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. This region is often called, The Stans. To the east, Central Asia is bordered by Tian Shan Mountains, and to the west by the Caspian Sea.
